The Aviation, Rocketry Club and Stellar Explorers mission is to foster interest in the principles and development of aviation, aeronautics and the science of aerodynamics in a variety of meaningful initiatives. The Martin County High School AFJROTC Aviation and Rocketry Club builds model airplanes, visit local airports, build and launches rockets, and prepare cadets for the AFJROTC Flight Academy. The Stellar Explorers participate in STEM based competitions. The Stellar Xplorers National Space Design Competition is a space system design competition that challenges teams of students to solve orbit planning, satellite component, and launch operation scenarios in a series of online rounds.
Air Force JROTC Flight Academy is an approximately 8-week summer aviation training program, conducted at partnering universities nationwide. Upon successful completion of the program, students are awarded a Private Pilot’s Certification -- for FREE!! The Flight Academy is intended to inspire and encourage high school youth toward aviation careers. Additionally, the experience of learning to fly will positively improve a student's life and help shape their personal development, academic endeavors, and career aspirations. And, believe it or not, this program does NOT require ANY military service obligations following high school!!
